Polish winger Jakub Blaszczykowksi is set to re-join his boyhood club Wisla Krakow in Poland without a wage, as well as contributing close to $500,000 to assist the club.

The 13-time Polish champions Wisla have been on the verge of collapse after a potential takeover from a Cambodian business failed to take place.

The wealthy corporation was set to settle the club's debts but failed to by the deadline of December 28 leaving the Polish side in a financial predicament.

However, Blaszczykowski has come to the rescue of the team he made 51 appearances for, as he, IT entrepreneur, Jaroslaw Krolewski, and an unnamed third party will pay off the outstanding player's wages.

This financial assistance will give the club time to negotiate a takeover.

Wisla Krakow last won the league in the 2010-11 season and have since been some way off reaching those heights for a 14th league title, making them equal first with the most Polish championships.

The side will be hoping Kuba's assistance both off and on the field will propel them forward in the future in what is the most loyal of gestures.

The Polish international has received praise throughout social media including by his former side Borussia Dortmund, where he spent nine years of his career.
