THE Los Angeles Galaxy failed to claim their third Supporters' Shield title after losing 3-1 at home to the Colorado Rapids.
Edson Buddle gave the home side the lead after just 10 minutes but an own goal from Juninho (17) quickly drew the Rapids level.
Conor Casey (31) and Omar Cummings (67) then scored the goals to seal victory for the visitors and with it a play-off place.
The Kansas City Wizards missed out on the play-offs after losing 1-0 to the New England Revolution. Shalrie Joseph (31) scored the only goal.
The New York Red Bulls missed out on the chance to seal the Eastern Conference title as they lost 2-1 to the Philadelphia Union.
Fred and Michael Orozco Fiscal put the Union in command inside 30 minutes and the Red Bulls could only pull one goal back through Danleigh Borman (48).
Goalkeeper Will Hesmer was the unlikely hero for the Columbus Crew with a 92nd-minute equaliser against Toronto FC.
Hesmer went up for a last-gasp corner and stabbed home from close range after Toronto had led through goals from Maicon Santos (29) and Jacob Peterson (38).
Chad Marshall had put the visitors ahead after 15 minutes.
Elsewhere, FC Dallas' 19-game unbeaten streak came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Real Salt Lake, who scored through Ned Grabavoy (59) and Javier Morales (90).
And the Houston Dynamo won 1-0 away to the San Jose Earthquakes thanks to Andre Hainault's 23rd-minute goal.
The game between Chicago and DC United finished 0-0.
