Adelaide United has confirmed Iacopo La Rocca will miss six weeks after sustaining a hip injury in Friday’s 5-0 loss to Perth Glory at Coopers Stadium.
La Rocca has sustained a Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL) tendon injury to his hip, which was caused by a significant collision during the first-half of the match.
The club said it is expected that La Rocca will be sidelined for six weeks with this injury.
The injury practically ends La Rocca's 2016/17 season, with eight rounds to play and United all but out of the finals race.
La Rocca has also not been named in United's 2017 AFC Champions League squad.
The Italian along with Argentine midfielder Marcelo Carrusca, was left out of the squad, preferring visa quartet Isaias, Sergio Cirio, Baba Diawara and Kim Jae-Sung.
La Rocca scored an embarrassing own goal in the first half of the Glory defeat.
