Three months after his move, Socceroo Mitch Langerak has made his long-awaited debut for Spanish club Levante in their 1-1 draw with Girona in the Copa del Rey overnight.
The Australia deputy goalkeeper had joined Levante from VfB Stuttgart on a two-year deal prior to the closure of the transfer window in late August.
Langerak has largely been second or third choice since joining the Valencia club, behind Raul Fernandez and Oier.
The 29-year-old Socceroo was beaten to his left in the 33rd minute from Johan Mojica’s diving volley from Marlos Moreno’s right-wing cross.
Jose Luis Morales equalised in the 75th minute as Levante clinched a 3-1 aggregate win to progress to the last 16.
