A last-minute goal from Sergio Garcia spared Real Zaragoza's blushes in a dramatic Copa del Rey encounter against Pontevedra on Thursday night.
Victor Fernandez's team, trailing 1-0 from the first leg, looked to be heading out of the competition when Igor Souza's penalty put the visitors two up on aggregate after 18 minutes.
However, the hosts hit back in the second half through goals from Diego Milito and Ricardo Oliveira.
A second-leg scoreline of 2-1 would have been enough for Pontevedra to advance on away goals, but Garcia's last-gasp goal put the tie beyond them.
In Thursday's other match, Levante secured their place in the last 16 in equally thrilling style against Almeria.
Holding a 2-1 advantage after the first leg, Almeria looked to be crashing out on away goals when Ruben Pulido struck in the 91st minute.
But Luiz Alvaro replied for the Valencia-based side in the fourth minute of stoppage time to earn a 1-1 draw on the night which saw his team advance 3-2 on aggregate.
