FFA are seeking a review on the decision, which was made to ensure concurrent kick-offs between the two Group D matches, one which is to be held in Melbourne, and the other which will be held in Muscat between Oman and Thailand.

As it stands, Saudi Arabia (six points) need at least a point in Melbourne or could face elimination, with either Oman (five points) or Thailand (four points) able to qualify if they win. Australia are already through to the next group stage.

The Socceroos' match was originally scheduled to be played at AAMI Park with a 7:30pm kick-off and tickets have been on sale for two months, with over 20,000 already sold.

FFA are awaiting a response from FIFA on the matter, but given the governing body's reputation, it is unlikely that it will be successful with any challenge.
