WIGAN have rubbished reports from South America that Paraguay international Antolin Alcaraz could back out of his move to the DW Stadium.
The 27-year-old defender signed a deal with the Latics prior to the World Cup after his contract expired with Club Bruges.
Alcaraz impressed in South Africa and comments reportedly made by him to a radio station in his homeland yesterday claimed that, following interest from a number of clubs, his future remained uncertain.
However, a Wigan spokesperson told Press Association Sport the player is tied to the club and he is scheduled to return for pre-season training later this month after a post-World Cup rest.
The Latics spokesperson also confirmed the club have already registered his contract with the Premier League and all the paperwork has officially been approved.
