The A-League rivals will meet at Leichhardt Oval on Monday night as both teams step up preparations for the new season.

The clash is the second meeting against A-League opposition for Sydney FC this pre-season after Lavicka's side defeated North Queensland Fury 4-0 at Shark Park last weekend.

It also follows eight matches against State League sides, which saw Sydney FC win all eight fixtures, the last being over the Sutherland Sharks 4-1 on Wednesday night.

"This is important game for Sydney FC in our pre-season. We have played State League sides at their grounds and done well to win all eight games but this is bigger test.

"This is against A-League team and we will have better knowledge of our pre season progress. I was happy against North Queensland but every time we play another A-League team I get more information on how our pre season is. I look forward to seeing Sydney FC play the Mariners," said Lavicka.

The match was originally scheduled to take place at Knox Grammar School but had to be moved following the recent wet weather that has affected many Sydney sports fields.

Tickets will cost $10 for adults, $5 for concession with children under the age of 14 admitted free of charge, and can be pre-purchased through the PROticket website and at all PROticket Agencies, or by calling PROticket on 1300 12 10 12 (booking fee applies).

Gates will open at 6pm with the match kicking off at 7pm.
