SYDNEY FC coach Vitezslav Lavicka rued his side's loss of concentration during seven crazy second-half minutes which allowed Melbourne Victory back into Saturday's 3-3 draw at the SFS.
Lavicka's men were cruising 2-0 up twenty minutes into the second-half before conceding three goals in an unbelievable seven minute period.
Shannon Cole's 85th minute free-kick rescued a point for the Sky Blues and Lavicka hailed his players for showing character in fighting back, but rued their lapse of concentration.
"It was a strange game," Lavicka said. "I think in the first-half we controlled the game, but after we scored the second goal we had a bad period. We lost concentration."
"When we were one goal down we started again to believe and we were able to change the game.
"In the moments after the game we can be happy for taking part but we have to improve as a team."
Sydney FC captain Terry McFlynn said the Victory made the most of their luck in the second-half with Leigh Broxham's fortunate deflected goal triggering their fightback but, like Lavicka, was impressed by his side's spirit to fight back again.
"We were in control of the game," McFlynn said. "Goals change games.
"The ball has come into the box it took a ricochet off Seb (Ryall) and hit their boy in the foot and gone in.
"They've got their little bit of luck, fair play to them. They've went on with it then we've had to dig deep, come back and get the result."
