Lavicka looked on as Sydney missed a penalty and failed to find a way through the visitors backline at the SFS.

After back-to-back defeats, Lavicka is urging an improved effort from his charges when they return to the Sydney Football Stadium next Sunday to entertain Newcastle Jets.

"We need to be more aggressive, more hungry to score - more courage," he said.  "We don't give up.  We know that we played bad tonight but the season is long."

As for the man who proved the difference between the two sides, Sydney captain Steve Corica could only admire the execution of Robbie Fowler's second half strike.

"He scored a brilliant goal," said Corica.  "A top striker like that, he only need one chance and he had it.  Full credit to him."
