The outcome sees the Biancoceleste reach the final for the first time since the 2002-2003 campaign and it was a deserved reward for a polished performance by Delio Rossi's men.

Lazio will play the winner of tomorrow's semi-final between Inter Milan and Sampdoria on May 13 in Rome.

Samp lead 3-0 after the first leg.

"We deserve to be in the final," said Rossi. "We have knocked out AC Milan and Juve to get to the final game.

"This year we have had ups and down but my team has quality and they proved this tonight.

"Now we must enjoy this victory."

Mauro Zarate scored Lazio's opener in the 38th minute when he curled a fine low ball round Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon from outside the area.

Lazio defender Aleksandar Kolarov extended the visitors' advantage early in the second half with his strike taking a deflection from Juventus defender Grygera to stun Buffon.

The hosts desperately surged forward and captain Alessandro Del Piero reduced the deficit shortly after the hour mark, chesting down Mauro Camoranesi's cross before firing into the back of the net.

Juve could have made it 2-2 soon after but Pavel Nedved's header rebounded off the far post with Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Muslera already beaten.

To add to Claudio Ranieri's woes, his team had to play the last 10 minutes with 10 men after Camoranesi was sent off for a second bookable offence.

The Juve players were booed by their fans as they left the pitch with the club set to end the season empty handed.

"It's not nice to have this reaction from the fans because we are trying to do what we can," admitted Ranieri. "But we have to learn to accept the praises and the criticisms.

"Now we have to focus on doing well in our remaining league games and finish second in the Serie A standings."
