The threat of the axe is hanging over Le Guen with PSG languishing in Ligue 1's relegation zone heading into the final game before the winter break.

The 2-1 home defeat to Toulouse on Saturday made matters worse for the former Lyon and Rangers boss, but Cayzac has given Le Guen a vote of confidence.

"It is me who decides, it is me who appoints or chooses to get rid of someone," he said. "And I have decided to keep him."

Cayzac's own future is under scrutiny, with the club having endured a miserable last couple of years.

PSG narrowly avoided relegation last season but have found themselves in a similar predicament this campaign.

They are still to win at the Parc des Princes in 10 attempts in the league.

The PSG board of directors are set to meet this week and Cayzac admits his position could be under threat.

"On the other hand, it isn't me who appoints myself - you have shareholders, a board of directors," he added.

"I haven't said I wanted to resign because that would be the attitude of a deserter. I have said, and I will repeat it, that PSG isn't (just) a job for me. I wish to stay here because I love this club deeply.

"I want to stay here because I don't want to jump ship when it isn't going well. And we are at a time when it isn't going well.

"But it is for the shareholders to say if it is better to make a change or not."
