Leckie was always going to miss the first leg after picking up a suspension in the AFC play-off tie with Syria.

However, the Hertha Berlin attacker picked up an injury just days before heading to Australia for the second leg in Sydney.

Leckie was based in Melbourne as the Socceroos played away in Honduras, and time was ticking to get the forward fit for the game.

However, despite having doubts over his fitness, Leckie says he is ready to get out there and get Australia to Russia.

"I wouldn't lie if I said I wasn't 100% when I was in Melbourne, I still had my doubts, but there's last few days have really helped. But I really feel good now," Leckie told FFA TV.

"Not sure if I'll be starting but it's a big game for the country and I definitely want to be there.

"Everyones buzzing. We've definitely put plenty of time over the last few of days to get ourselves right and fit for the game. Everyone's pretty fit and ready to go."

The game will be a sell-out, with 75,000 tickets sold for the crunch qualifier - much more than the 40,000 that were there for the Syria qualifier.

"We were disappointed in the turnout for Syria because it was just an important of a game," Leckie said.

"But it's a big occasion tonight and to get a full stadium is special for us and we know how much it can help us and make it hard for the opposition. It's nice to see the country is behind us."
