Socceroos winger Mathew Leckie is a huge risk of missing the side's World Cup play-off with Honduras all together.
In what is already a huge blow for Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou, Leckie and Melbourne Victory midfielder Mark Milligan are ruled out of the first leg due to suspension.
However, Leckie is also battling a thigh injury that could see him miss the return leg against Honduras in Sydney.
His club side Hertha Berlin confirmed the Australian will miss their next two fixtures, with the play-off against Honduras just over two weeks away.
Leckie was named in Postecoglou's initial 30-man squad but it is now uncertain if he will make the final 23 with the injury cloud hanging over his head.
Leckie has been in sensational form for club and country this season and his absence would be a huge dent in the Socceroos' chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
