Socceroo Mathew Leckie was rested as Hertha Berlin suffered defeat at the hands of Sweden's Cinderella Story club Ostersunds.
Leckie did not travel to Sweden as Hertha competed in Matchday 2 of the Europa League, with several of their stars kept back in Germany.
However the game did not go to plan, with a 22nd minute penalty from Iraqi midfielder Brwa Nouri sealing the win for the home side.
Ostersunds were in Sweden's fourth division just six years ago, playing in front of no more than 500 fans.
But after three promotions in five seasons, the club are now playing in the top-flight of Swedish football.
They qualified for the Europa League after winning the Swedish Cup (Svenska Cupen), and have won their opening two games of the group.
They're led by Englishman Graham Potter, who has been at the club since 2011.
Meanwhile, Alex Gersbach was on the bench as Rosenborg won 3-1 over Vardar.
Jason Davidson was not in the squad as Rijeka lost 3-2 to AC Milan at the San Siro, as was Chris Ikononomodis in Lazio's home win over Zulte-Waregem.
