MOENCHENGLADBACH'S Australian Mathew Leckie is eyeing off a return in next week's DFB Pokal clash against Heidenheim after resuming training on Tuesday following a thigh injury.
The 20-year-old former Adelaide United man suffered the injury in training in late September and has been stuck on the sidelines since.
Frustratingly, during Leckie's absence Moenchengladbach lost strikers Raul Bobadilla and Igor de Camargo meaning an opportunity may have opened up for him in last weekend's 2-2 draw with Leverkusen.
However, the youngster is only looking ahead and while Saturday's Bundesliga clash with Hoffenheim may come too soon, he's got an eye on next Tuesday's cup encounter against third tier Heidenheim.
"It looks very good, maybe I can train again on Thursday or Friday and be available for the team in the cup game next Tuesday,” Leckie told the club's website.
Leckie, who netted for Moenchengladbach's II side last month, has made four appearances for the first-team.
