Preferred bidder Bill Miller informed administrators of plans to withdraw his offer for the stricken club earlier today, although Duff and Phelps remain hopeful of a sale before the end of the season as they consider three new bids for the Glasgow giants.

Rangers were forced to call in the administrators on February 14 and have endured a number of twist and turns since then as they aim to sort out their finances.

Rival boss Lennon told Radio Clyde: "I think we all want it resolved. I can't really comment on what's going on. It's disappointing, it's dragged on far longer than it should have done so I think everyone wants a resolution sooner rather than later."

Lennon was speaking at the Hilton in Glasgow as he was named Clydesdale Bank Premier League manager of the year, with Charlie Mulgrew named player of the year and James Forrest picking up the young player prize.

The Hoops may have claimed the title but, having once trailed Rangers by 15 points and fought back from three goals down against Kilmarnock to scrape a 3-3 draw during a difficult spell earlier in the campaign, Lennon paid tribute to his players for transforming their season so impressively.

He said: "It just shows you far we have come in a short space of time but we had faith in the team. They weren't doing themselves justice at the time but we didn't panic.

"We had a good look at things and decided on the back of last season, when we had 92 points and got to two cup finals, that there shouldn't be a lot wrong with the team.

"So we just had to work away with them and they came good for us at the end. We went on an unbelievable run, which we felt they were capable of doing.

On his own award, he added: "It's wonderful. It's a nice bonus on the back of what has been a great season for us.

"But every manager will tell you that you're only as good as your players so a huge amount of credit must go to them. I'm delighted [for Charlie and James].

"It's great recognition for the team and it's been a real team effort this year. Charlie and James are exceptional players."

Lennon is now looking forward to what he hopes will be a successful Champions League campaign next term.

He said: "I'm very comfortable because they have won a title now and that will give them a huge shot in the arm.

"In the last two seasons they have shown remarkable consistency in the league and in the cup competitions, to be fair.

"The Champions League is different and we will look to add a couple of bits of quality here and there if we can. But the nucleus of the squad is very, very good."
