MANCHESTER City defender Joleon Lescott has insisted he has no problems with John Terry ahead of England's Euro 2012 campaign.
Chelsea captain Terry endured a turbulent season and was stripped of the England captaincy after being accused of racially vilifying QPR's Anton Ferdinand, leading some to believe this could lead to animosity developing in the squad.
The pair will link up at the tournament in Poland and Ukraine in June but Lescott was quick to deny the notion any of the players might have a problem with Terry's inclusion.
"Obviously we're all here for the same reason and that's to do well for England, so if we can just do that then that will take care of itself when it's about," Lescott said.
"We've been in squads before. I think it was the Spain squad when we were all in the squad together and we had two good results then and two good performances.
"So I think it's proven that there's no animosity in the squad and there's going to be no grudges held towards each other."
With manager Roy Hodgson taking charge of his first game in Saturday's friendly with Norway, Lescott is hopeful he would be in the former West Brom manager's immediate plans.
"Obviously it would be nice to play and hopefully play alongside Jags (Phil Jagielka) again," Lescott said.
"But again, it feels like a fresh start so the manager's made it clear that he hasn't picked his team yet, so if I can play well in friendly games coming up I feel like I can stake a claim for France."
Speaking about Hodgson's approach compared to that of former manager Fabio Capello, Lescott revealed communication was one major improvement.
"The biggest difference would be the communication side of it.
"Obviously his first language is English so it's easy to communicate.
"But on the whole he gets his point across pretty well and so did Fabio, so it's just nice to be involved. I'm just pleased to be selected for the squad."
