Alex Cisak continued in goals and James Wesolowski received a 63rd minute yellow card as he played another full 90 minutes in Oldham Athletic’s 1-1 draw against Huddersfield. Paul Dickov’s men managed to earn a point despite playing the last 15 minutes with 10 men.

Oldham welcomes Stevenage to Boundary Park next Sunday in Round 7 of League One action.

In League Two, Shane Cansdell-Sherriff helped Shrewsbury keep a clean sheet as they defeated Gillingham 1-0 at the MEMS Priestfield Stadium. The Shrews sit in fifth spot and occupy one of the play-off places.

This weekend, Shrewsbury returns to the Greenhous Meadow to play host to Hereford United who sit one spot off the bottom of the table.

In the J2 League, Jade North was an unused substitute in FC Tokyo’s top of the table clash against Tochigi at the Ajinomoto Stadium. The game finished scoreless with both sides on course for promotion.

Sixteenth placed Kyoto Sanga, travel to the Ajinomoto Stadium this weekend as FC Tokyo look to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Elsewhere, A JEF United side minus the absent Mark Milligan, were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Tokyo Verdy. JEF United sit fourth on the table, three points behind Jade North’s FC Tokyo.

Next up, United entertain sixth place Sagan Tosu at the Fukuda Denshi Arena.

In Italy’s Serie B, Sassuolo suffered a 1-0 defeat away to sixth place Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Sassuolo, who were without Socceroo Carl Valeri, could not find an equaliser after Nicola Ferrari had given Verona the lead from the spot early in the second half.

Saturday sees Sassuolo host A.S Cittadella as the Italian club look to welcome back Carl Valeri.
