The Lithuanian Football Federation have launched an appeal against the two-match ban imposed on winger Saulius Mikoliunas for diving against Scotland.
Mikoliunas became the first player banned by UEFA retrospectively for 'simulation' after European football's governing body studied video evidence of the Hearts wideman throwing himself down to win a penalty at Hampden on September 8.
The 23-year-old convinced referee Damir Skomina to award a spot-kick, which briefly brought Lithuania level in a European Championship qualifier which the visitors lost 3-1.
Lithuanian federation president Liutauras Varanavicius said on BBC Sport: "We will be seeking a full and proper explanation of the rationale for the severity of suspension as well as an explanation as to why other similar incidents during the same match have gone 'unpunished'."
