FORMER Sydney boss Pierre Littbarski has thrown his hat into the ring for the Norwich City manager's job along with ex-Sydney sidekick Ian Crook.
Bookies had former Norwich star Crook down as second favourite for the hotseat after Peter Grant left the club last week.
But the pair - currently one and two in charge at Japanese J2-League side Avispa Fukuoka - could form a dream ticket if they combine again at Norwich.
Crook has a long relationship with the club and has been repeatedly linked with a management role there.
But now Littbarski has said he fancies the job - and would bring Crook along with him.
Littbarski won the inaugural Championship with Sydney before a pay dispute forced him out of the A-League club and back to Japan.
Crook followed later after Terry Butcher took over control for season two at the harbour city side.
The former Germany World Cup star told a Norwich City website: "That job would interest me. I would not come alone.
"If I were to come, I would come with Chippy (Crook). He knows the game there a lot better than I do and he is more than a right-hand man to me."
He added: "We had a lot of fun together at Sydney - it was the first time in history that a German and an Englishman work well together!
"It is close to the end of the season here and if the opportunity comes up, we wouldn't let it go."
Littbarski admitted the prospect of a possible place in the Premier League for the promotion-chasing Championship side was one of the driving factors in his bid for the job.
"I love the Premier League in England," he added. "Since I've been in Australia I have really followed it.
"For me, it is true soccer. There's no cheating. And if I got an opportunity to manage in the Premier League then that would be fantastic."
