RISING star Caitlin Foord says she had an offer from England's Liverpool FC to play in the English league but opted for a New York club as her first foray into overseas club football.
Foord, 18, is the most exciting talent to come through the national women’s ranks in recent years.
The Sydney FC grand final winner is now playing for New York’s Sky Blue FC during the Australian winter ahead of her return to the W-League next season.
The Matilda, who was awarded best young player at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup and that year's AFC young player of the year, reveals all about her move to the US, Liverpool’s offer, the Matildas under their new coach and she tells of her frustration at the axing of the football program at NSWIS.
