Lloris has demanded clarification on his status within the squad from boss Andre Villas-Boas after being rotated with Brad Friedel since his arrival.

Lloris has once again stoked the flames by claiming that he is frustrated at playing second-fiddle to 41-year-old Friedel, having started just one Premier League game this season.

"Right now, we take what there is to take. Is it hard? Yes, a little," the France captain told L'Equipe.

"I'm training, I do the maximum, and the coach has made his choice. This is difficult, and it's also difficult to accept, but such questions must also be asked to the coach.

"I just stay professional. When you're a competitor, you want to be on the pitch."

Asked whether that meant he would be seeking a move away from the club at the end of the season if things don't improve, Lloris remained elusive.

The ex-Lyon keeper said: "I'm just a player."

Tottenham will play against north London rivals Arsenal this weekend, with manager Villas-Boas hoping to increase the club's lead in the league over Arsene Wenger's stuttering outfit.
