SOUTH Africa will play Australia in a friendly at Craven Cottage in London on August 19, African officials have told local news sources.

South African Football Association (Safa) chief executive officer Raymond Hack today revealed the two countries will meet for the sixth time in the post-apartheid era..
South Africa have beaten the Socceroos just once before, drawn once and lost three games, including a previous meeting in London in March 2004 when Australia beat Bafana Bafana 1-0 with a Marco Bresciano goal.
The last meeting between the two countries was in February 2005 when a long-range shot from Scott Chipperfield earned the Australians a 1-1 draw in Durban after Benni McCarthy had given South Africa an early lead.
South Africa will use the match as preparation for their key qualifier against Nigeria in September, when their already-slim chances of a place in the 2010 African Nations Cup finals will be determined.
