The chase for the final spot in the top six remains a three-way tussle after Western Sydney Wanderers stunned Brisbane Roar 3-0 in a clinical first half display.
Wanderers walked into the last chance saloon (aka ANZ Stadium) on Saturday night and shot it up, leapfrogging Roar and Perth Glory to move into 6th.
With their season on the line Josep Gombau's men stunned the visitors. In what was probably their finest 45 of the season Oriol Riera hit early and hard with a stunning brace (4', 15') before Christopher Ikonomidis added a third on 40 minutes.
It's a performance Ikonomidis says has always been "in our closet".

“We’re really happy – credit to all the boys who put in a fantastic performance tonight. We knew how it meant to club and the fans," the 22-year-old told Fox Sports
"We needed it and I think it feels good after two losses off the bat to come out with a strong win.
"We always try to do our best every match. We hope to bring joy to the fans and to everyone watching the A-League. Also putting in a performance like this it’s a joy for us boys doing our job well."
Roar's Massimo Maccarone netted on 80 minutes but VAR scrubbed out the goal after an offside Brett Holman was adjudged to have interfered with play.
A stunning save but Oriol Riera has Western Sydney in cruise control against the Roar.

Both Ikonomidis and Riera could have added to their tally.
"That’s the way it’s been going the last few weeks," Ikonomidis said. "I’ve hit the post or it’s just missed. (But) I base my happiness on my performances not on my goals, obviously, so I’m happy with tonight.
If Wanderers defeat Adelaide United next week they’re guaranteed of playing in the finals. Roar and Glory who face off in Perth beforehand will hope Western Sydney stumble.
Ikonomidis added: "It’s massive for us because we’re a big club in the A-League and we should make the finals.
