Miroslav Klose put the hosts in front after 16 minutes but Giuseppe Rossi equalised 10 minutes from time.

"We were not able to keep up our tempo over 90 minutes," said Low.

"We failed to take that risk and invest that little bit more to make it 2-0.

"I saw a lot of good things in certain phases, but also a lot that we can improve upon. For example, our organisation.

"We were not as flowing as we have become used to."

Italy have become a bogey team for the Germans, who have not won a game against the Azzurri in 16 years.

"I am sure that we will beat them soon," said Bastian Schweinsteiger, who was one of the few German players to play the whole 90 minutes.

"Our record against them is not very good and so it is a shame that we conceded that goal."
