Germany coach Joachim Low has defended his decision to name a young, inexperienced squad for tonight's international friendly with Denmark.
Low released eight members of the group which defeated the Czech Republic in Saturday's Euro 2008 qualifier and is set to hand a debut to six new players in Duisburg.
This decision has come in for harsh criticism from Denmark coach Morten Olsen, who feels the home nation have been disrespectful to his team.
However, Low believes he is doing the right thing by giving players who would normally not even be named in the squad the chance to prove themselves on the international stage.
"We are always being told to support young players in Germany, and that is what we are doing," he told ARD television.
"We talked about it last October and have pretty quickly put it into practice."
Robert Enke, Simon Rolfes and Roberto Hilbert have all been guaranteed a starting role while Gonzalo Castro will also make his debut at some point.
It is also likely that Stefan Kiessling will finally make the step up from the Under-21s alongside the inexperienced Jan Schlaudraff, who will claim only his third cap.
Cologne's Patrick Helmes will also be hoping to see some action in attack alongside Kevin Kuranyi who, with 37 caps, is the most experienced player left in the squad.
