This game will be the Nationalmannschaft's last before Low has to name his 23-man squad for the World Cup, which is why the 26 names he revealed today are likely to be the only candidates for the final cut.

The list includes Bayern Munich's young forward Thomas Muller and Bayer Leverkusen winger Toni Kroos.

Low said: "Both have played their way into the spotlight with good performances in the Bundesliga in recent months.

"Therefore, they have earned this chance. After they joined us for the first time in Stuttgart for a series of fitness tests at the end of January, this offers them their next chance to make themselves known among the group of candidates for the World Cup."

Stoke defender Robert Huth, who was also invited to the fitness tests last month, is not included, and nor is Real Madrid defender Christoph Metzelder, which indicates that neither are in Low's considerations for the World Cup.

"We have intentionally named a large squad for the game in Munich because it is important in a World Cup year to be able to discuss at length the current situation with every single individual," he said.

"Therefore, alongside training we will be holding lots of one-to-one talks in the coming days."

The squad would have contained 27 names, however Werder Bremen goalkeeper Tim Wiese has had to pull out due to a muscular injury which also ruled him out of his side's 4-1 win over FC Twente in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Despite not having scored for over 1300 minutes, Cologne striker Lukas Podolski is still included.
