Low's current contract runs until the end of Euro 2012, but the 51-year-old is keen to agree a new deal to avoid a repeat of last year, when his renewal was only decided after the World Cup.

In an interview with German newspaper Bild to be published tomorrow, Low admitted speculation over his job status was a "constant presence" in South Africa, adding: "We want to avoid (that) at Euro 2012.

"The cooperation with the DFB (German Football Federation) was good over many years, even if that was one problem, no question.

"We see good prospects for the national team with our young players, the DFB is in agreement with our concept."

Low has been linked with the manager's position at Bayern Munich, which will be vacated by Louis van Gaal in the summer, but ruled out the possibility of combining that role with his national team duties.

"No, that for me was never an option," Low added. "DFB and Bayern, DFB and Dortmund or DFB and Bremen is not possible. It would conflict with the interests of the league."

Low took over the national team in 2006 and led them to the final of Euro 2008 - where they lost to Spain - and the World Cup semi-finals in 2010, where they again lost 1-0 to Spain.
