Taggart was substituted for Nebojsa Marinkovic in the 56th minute while Diego Castro left the field unhappily for Joel Chianese with 10 minutes remaining.

Taggart was involved in the second goal which was scored by the Spaniard who claimed a brace in the six goal thriller.

“Diego and Taggs were like The Grumble brothers, taking them off, Tags has gone 60 minutes and he’s worked his socks off… ran out of petrol,” Lowe said.

“Castro’s only played 20 minutes and he’s throwing bottles about.

“It’s good to be upset, it shows the care, but maybe chill out a little bit and understand what we’re trying to do, we’re trying to protect and look after them.

“So to be honest I wasn’t too happy about the reaction. But they both care so there’s nothing wrong with that.”

Lowe was not short of humour after drawing on experiences from a 5-5 draw to Brentford for Barnet in his playing days and felt maybe the Glory should be charged for entertainment value in Melbourne.

He felt there was ambiguity with the three penalties conceded by his team, but also praised Liam Reddy for his efforts.

“For Dino’s (Djublic)… he got fouled first, the first where Marc Warren from where I was first looked like a pen,” he said.

“The second one with Marc… I asked the lino, he said it was for tripping, so I don’t know how he’s tripped him he’s moved the ball away with his thigh and he’s fell over him, so that was an interesting one.

“At the end of the day, Liam has some feathers in his cap out of it so he’s quite happy.

“He’s good guy, top lad, come in and done well… on the park and off the park as well, he gets a bit upset when the standards aren’t where they need to be which is good with a couple of players like Keogh and that gets transmitted into the group.

“I’ve gone from throwing myself off the roof to dancing around the sidelines in about 30 seconds (after the penalty and counter-attacking goal), great spectacle though… you go from saving penalty, you go down the other end and you score and it gives everyone belief.”
