Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe is excited by the prospect of attacking trio Adam Taggart, Andy Keogh and Diego Castro teaming up regularly after combining to good effect in Thursday’s win.
Glory claimed their first win in six games with a 2-1 triumph over Wellington Phoenix at nib Stadium, where the trio combined for the match-winner from Taggart in the 51st minute.
Johnny Warren medallist Castro and boom off-season recruit Taggart have both had their injury troubles this season, affecting their availability.
“That’s only their fourth game they’ve played together and we’re into round 14,” Lowe said.
“Any side wants their good players on the pitch and any side wants their good players firing, at the moment we seem to have those guys.
“Hopefully (they’ll stay fit), you keep your fingers crossed.”
World Cup Socceroos striker Taggart has scored five times in nine appearances this term and Lowe said his goal return was outstanding.
“If you go from day one, his very first game he scored,” Lowe said.
“Goals per minute, if you worked out how long he’s been on the pitch, he’d be up there with anyone in the league.”
Glory are the third most prolific side in the A-League, behind only top two Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory.
However the side has shipped the equal most goals in the A-League with 28 against.
