Defender Shane Lowry was seething after injury-riddled Perth Glory fell 2-0 to Melbourne Victory at nib Stadium on Sunday night .
Goals to Besart Berisha (56') and Leroy George (67') dragged Victory off the bottom of the ladder with their first win of the campaign.
But as the boos rang out on the final whistle, Lowry sounded just as peeved as the fans when he spoke to Fox Sports.
"I’m fuming to be honest with you," the 28-year-old said.
"I’m so disappointed and angry. It’s not good enough. We need to be better. We’ve got City on Friday night and we’ll try to turn it around."
Glory's injury crisis has hit right across the park, with the A-League outfit fielding a different back four in all but one of their matches this season.
They currently have seven players on the treatment table including Spanish duo Diego Castro and Andreu, striker Adam Taggart and defenders Scott Neville and Marc Warren.
Coach Kenny Lowe just managed to cobble together a side from his depleted ranks, with teenager Jacob Italiano handed his A-League debut.
And the 16-year-old came close to giving the home side the lead on the cusp of half-time. But that's about as good as it got for Perth.
Lowry, who was one of the best on pitch, added: “You just have to get on with it. It’s not ideal but that’s football. You can’t be making excuses. I’m certainly not standing here making excuses.
"I’m really annoyed with how the results have been going and we need to be better.
"It’s a quick turnaround which is a good thing. Get ourselves on the pitch again. This where we need to stand up as men and be counted now."
