SOCCEROOS 2010 World Cup preliminary squad member Shane Lowry has been linked with a loan move from Aston Villa to League One club Charlton Athletic for the rest of the season.
Lowry, who went out on loan last season to Plymouth Argyle and Leeds United, has not made one first-team appearance for the Villains this season.
According to The Mirror, the 21-year-old is trying to agree terms with the Addicks who are currently fifth in England's third tier.
Lowry is expected to join up with the Charlton squad this week.
The Perth-born youngster, who made his Villa debut last season in the FA Cup, has made the bench for the injury-hit Birmingham club four times this season but hasn't broken through.
Lowry, who made several Australia squads under former coach Pim Verbeek, was not in Holger Osieck's 50-man provisional Asian Cup squad.
