Italy striker Luca Toni is poised to complete his move from Fiorentina to Bayern Munich, according to reports in Germany.
A deal worth 13 million euros (£8.8million) is said to have been agreed between the two clubs and representatives of the Bavarian outfit are due in Florence in midweek to complete the necessary paperwork.
Toni, who has already passed a medical in the German capital, has reportedly signed a four-year contract with Bayern.
The 30-year-old turned down several offers from Serie A rivals out of respect for his former employers, who he would prefer not to meet in an opposition shirt.
"It is a beautiful gesture to the club and the city of Florence that Toni has decided to join Bayern Munich," said Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle, who confirmed the transfer on Tuesday.
However, Toni`s fears may still be realised next season as both Bayern and Fiorentina battle it out for UEFA Cup glory.
The highly-rated hitman enjoyed two fruitful years with the Viola, scoring 49 goals in the process.
And although his final season ended prematurely with surgery on a foot injury, he should recover in time to join his new Bayern team-mates in pre-season training at the end of June.
