An unmarked Luongo headed into the top right corner off a teasing Yeni N'Gbakoto cross to bring up QPR’s fourth goal on 57 minutes and all but condemn rock-bottom Rotherham to the drop.

The clinical header was a welcome breakthrough for the Aussie midfielder who ended his goal drought on his 63rd appearance for the Rs since moving from Swindon Town in 2015.

Luongo tweeted post-match: "Buzzing to get my first goal for the club and at loftus Road."

And the club's official Twitter account made light of the goal glut noting there was "even one" from Luongo.

The 24-year-old has been named in the Socceroos squad to take on Iraq and the UAE in World Cup qualifiers this month.

Meanwhile Rotherham now sit 24 points from safety with a goal difference of -54 while QPR enjoyed their fourth consecutive win under manager Ian Holloway.
