Awer Mabil was sent off on his Esbjerg debut overnight while Mustafa Amini netted as AGF claimed a 2-2 draw in the Danish Superliga.
Mabil joined Esbjerg on a season-long loan last week and was immediately thrust into their starting line-up, wearing the number 10 shirt for Monday’s clash.
However, the 20-year-old winger was given a straight red card after an off-the-ball push and shove with AGF’s Martin Spelmann on 44 minutes.
The sending off is a setback for Mabil whose move to Esbjerg was inspired by the lure of more game-time, having only made nine appearances for Midtjylland last term.

Esbjerg had opened up a two-goal lead in the first half, before Amini pulled one back on 33 minutes.
Amini was busy in the early stages, working a nice one-two with right-back Nikolaj Hagelskjaer on the right flank, only for Robin Soder to spurn the cutback.
In the 19th minute, Mabil right-wing cross was partially cleared, falling to Kevin Mensah who lashed in the opener.
Jeppe Andersen made it 2-0, before Amini ghosted into the box to pull one back with a calm header on 33 minutes.
Anthony Soares would equalize for AGF on 82 minutes with a fine volley.
