AUSSIES ABROAD: Fringe Socceroo Scott McDonald pushed his claim for a spot in Middlesbrough’s starting XI with two goals and an assist in the 7-3 win over Falkirk in the Ramsdens Challenge Cup.
McDonald came on after the break and made an immediate impact with a cross that was turned in by Emmanuel Ledesma.
Midway through the first half, McDonald got his own name on the score sheet when he finished off Cameron Park’s cross.
A curled left-footed shot in the dying stages of the match gave the Aussie striker his second and secured a big win for Boro. Socceroo defender Rhys Williams also played the second half of the match.
