Brisbane Roar have announced the departure of Massimo Maccarone.
Maccarone didn't secure a contract for next season, meaning the former Serie A star will leave his marquee spot at the Roar after just one campaign.
While he didn't set the league alight in goals, notching nine in 28 appearances, Maccarone more-than-proved his commitment to the cause.
A leader from the front, the Italian drew huge praise towards the end of the season for his precocious work-rate and willingness at 38-years-old to commit to the team's success.
"I would like to thank the players, coaches and supporters for making me feel so welcome. I really enjoyed my time here in Australia," Maccarone said.
"I am disappointed that we couldn't make the Grand Final, but I leave with good memories."
