Jamie Maclaren has backed his Socceroo teammate Daniel Arzani to thrive at Celtic.
Arzani will join the Glasgow giants on loan from Melbourne City.
Hibernian striker Maclaren, who was a teammate of the winger's during the World Cup in Russia, will be a rival this season in Scotland.
He believes Celtic Park is the perfect place for the 19-year-old to continue his development.
"Daniel is a quality player," Maclaren told reporters. "He is young and has only played a little amount of football but I think he will grow up quickly.
"Being at a club like Celtic he will have to raise his standards.
"The standards were high at Melbourne from the City group but at Celtic he will be around guys like Scott Brown who will push him on.
"He needs that. I think he is the sort of player who needs big characters and he will do well — hopefully not well against us! But I wish him all the best."
