AUSSIES ABROAD: Adrian Madaschi played his part as relegation-threatened Portogruaro claimed a vital three points with a dramatic 2-1 win at leaders Siena in Italy's Serie B overnight.
Madaschi's Portogruaro scored twice in the final two minutes of the game to claim a crucial win in their bid for survival.
Five-time Socceroo Madaschi put in a full shift in defence in the game, as his side went 1-0 down on 83 minutes thanks to Francesco Caputo's goal.
But Portogruaro struck back in incredible fashion with Federico Gerardi levelling on 89 minutes, before Emiliano Tarano won it in injury-time.
The result takes Portogruaro to 40 points, but they remain in the bottom three in Italy's second tier, one point behind Ascoli in 19th.
Elsewhere, Socceroo Carl Valeri played a full game as 17th-placed Sassuolo lost 2-1 to 21st-placed Triestina.
In England's Championship, Neil Kilkenny was a half-time substitute as Leeds United slipped out of the play-offs places with a 0-0 draw with Reading.
Adam Federici was an unused sub for fourth-placed Reading, as his replacement Alex McCarthy produced another fine performance.
In England's League One, James Wesolowski started and played 61 minutes as Peterborough's automatic promotion hopes were dealt a blow after a 2-1 loss to Leyton Orient.
In Ireland's Premier Division, Aussie goalkeeper Chris O'Connor played a full game as Bohemians won 2-1 at Sligo Rovers.
