The injury-prone former Chelsea star is currently recovering in La Ling's clinic in Holland after he tore muscle fibres in his leg during the pre-match warm-up for a game against Juventus on November 5.

He was ruled out by the club for five to six weeks, but La Ling insists the player could be back within seven days had the club taken proper care of their player, mainly in terms of the 24-year-old's diet.

He told Spanish newspaper AS: "Believe me, he could play next week or the one after at the latest. The Madrid doctors are amateurs, like so many in the football world.

"Players like Robben get their power from fat. Footballers are like race cars, they need the right oil and if they don't have it they break.

"He wasn't eating what he should have been. And that's what we're working on now, giving him the food he didn't have."

Robben has been plagued with injuries since his time at Chelsea, as he struggled to manage 18 appearances during his first season with the Londoners in 2004/05.

Throughout his time in England and since arriving in Spain the winger has been sidelined a number of times, but La Ling believes he has finally cured Robben of his problems.

"Arjen will no longer be made of glass," he promised. "I have the solution. From now on we will see a healthy Robben."
