Adam Maher has vowed to repay the faith shown in him by PSV Eindhoven after completing his move to the club.
The Eredivisie side finally formalised a deal for the 19-year-old midfielder on Monday from AZ Alkmaar for a fee believed to be in the region of around €8 million.
The Netherlands international has signed a five-year-contract with the Philips Stadion outfit, and is now intent on living up to his price-tag.
"PSV has fought for me. The fans let me know also that they would like to see me in Eindhoven," he said at his first press conference.
"Now I want to repay the club with my performances on the field."
Maher established himself as a first-team regular with AZ during his three years with the club.
He joins fellow new arrivals Florian Jozefzoon and Jeffrey Bruma as PSV's third signing of the close-season, and technical director Marcel Brands has hinted that more new faces could be on the way.
"We're not done yet, that's for sure," he said. "We will still be possibly strengthening.
"It is our goal to get (another) two or three positions."
