Burglars stole a Porsche and a Mercedes belonging to Claude Makelele after the veteran Paris St Germain midfielder's house just outside the French capital was broken into last night.
Items of jewellery worth thousands of euros are also believed to have been stolen in the burglary, which was discovered at 8.26pm last night, according to French daily Le Parisien.
Makelele, the former France and Chelsea star, was in action for PSG against Sochaux yesterday evening.
He was withdrawn at half-time of that match because of injury.
