Ex-Manchester United star Jesper Olsen says Olyroo striker David Williams has made a great impression at Danish powerhouse Brondby.
“I hear good things about him,” Olsen, a legend of the Danish national team, tells www.au.fourfourtwo.com.
“He’s got a good talent. If he can develop in line with the Danish level that would be great.”
Asked if Williams, who’s just turned 19, was too young to leave Queensland for the Danish powerhouse, Olsen says it’s not clear cut.
“There’s never a right or wrong time. If the opportunity is there to try, why not go. Everyone’s different.”
Brondby’s coach Rene Meulensteen is a former Manchester United staff coach, and with the Danish outfit now a feeder club for United, anyone starring for Brondby will no doubt be noticed by Red Devils management.
On Wednesday night, Williams made an electrifying sub's appearance for the Olyroos against Saudi Arabia in the 2-0 win.
Williams has played 19 matches for the Copenhagen-based club, scoring one goal. He also scored three times in the Royal League, a Scandinavian club competition featuring Swedish, Danish and Norwegian sides.
He joined the Danish club last season after a brief spell with Queensland Roar.
