YAZID Mansouri believes Algeria's African Nations Cup experience will help coach Rabah Saadane sort out some of their problem areas ahead of the World Cup.
The Desert Hawks, who are in Group C in South Africa alongside England, United States and Slovenia, ended an encouraging campaign with a 1-0 loss to Nigeria in the third-fourth place play-off in Benguela yesterday.
Victor Nsofor's second-half strike was the only difference between the two sides and the loss for Saadane's men was fresh off their 4-0 drubbing to Egypt in the semi-final.
Mansouri admitted his side were jaded.
The captain said: "We were tired, but we did not do as well as we would have wanted to."
But the Lorient midfielder said there were plenty of positives to take forward to the World Cup.
"We will move ahead and learn form the mistakes we made at this tournament," he added.
"We have to work very hard to get ready for the World Cup especially in the midfield and attack.
"The Nations Cup has afforded us a chance to know where we have to improve."
