Diego Maradona has mocked Brazilian great Pele, accusing him of talking nonsensically 'when he takes the wrong pills'.
The former Argentina international and Pele are seen as two of the best players in the history of the game, but they have long endured a difficult relationship.
Maradona has once more made the headlines with some controversial comments.
"I think I'm the best player ever," said Maradona. "Why would you compare me to Pele?
"My mother said that I'm stronger and that he used to play with players who didn't even move on the pitch.
"I don't like comparisons with Pele because of the stupid things he says. He keeps on saying stupid stuff when he takes the wrong pills."
The Argentine legend also had his say on Lionel Messi, claiming that the Barcelona star has not reached his level just yet.
"Messi? He hardly touched the ball against AC Milan, but he remains a great player," he said. "However, I still see myself as the better player."
