Argentinean playmaker Marcelo Carrusca will continue in the A-League with Melbourne City in 2017/18.
It appears the 33-year-old has found a new home after being pictured at the City Football Academy this week.
City's star striker Bruno Fornaroli posted a photo of him, Carrusca, Fernando Brandan and Iacopo La Rocca with the caption "welcome to the family" on Thursday morning.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Carrusca has been in search of a new team since leaving Adelaide United at the end of last season.
He was rumoured to be in discussions with several A-League clubs, with Newcastle Jets showing a particular interest.
However, a City announcement seems imminent.
The A-League Championship and Premiership winner is also an Australian citizen, meaning he does not take up a visa spot.
