Rose singled out the 'three 'M's' - CEO Shaun Mielekamp, coach Mike Mulvey and assistant Nick Montgomery for "killing our once great club" in the wake of a seemingly wooden spoon deciding loss to Brisbane Roar.

The 3 M’s are killing our once great club. Mielekamp, Mulvey and Montgomery clearly not even close where they need to be to do their jobs. Tough decisions need to be made for this club to go forward. #AnnounceHiariej #headsshouldroll #EnoughIsEnough

The emphatic defeat all but ends a torrid season for the four-time A-League Grand Finalists, who have won one game this season, losing nine matches from winning positions in the process.

The Mariners have been plagued by poor performances and a series of off-field issues, including persistent financial problems, for the past four seasons, since the departure of Graham Arnold.

A series of ineffective coaching appointments, culminating in the worst season in the club's history this year under Mike Mulvey, has seen some pundits go as far as to question the Mariners' place in the A-League.

The Mariners have seven matches remaining, and are now eight points adrift of Brisbane Roar in last place.
