Central Coast Mariners are set to swoop for Perth Glory starlet Danny De Silva as the club continues to bolster their squad ahead of the 2017/18 campaign.
Glory released a statement confirming De Silva would not be returning to their line up at the end of his current loan agreement with Roda JC Kerkrade.
The agreement officially ends in July but the 20-year-old returned to WA in January after he fell out of favour with the Dutch outfit.
De Silva signed a two-year loan deal with Roda in August 2015 following a botched transfer to Serie A side Roma.
Glory stated that discussions were held "with Danny and his management, however, Danny stated his clear preference is to play under his former Young Socceroos coach, Paul Okon, at Central Coast Mariners.
"Our understanding is that the player and Central Coast are in discussions at present and his signing will be announced in due course."
Mariners have already signed Alan Baro, Antony Golec,Tom Hiariej and Andrew Hoole, while Kwabena Appiah has extended his stay.
