Paris Saint-Germain have secured the services of 19-year-old defender Marquinhos from Roma on a five-year deal.
The highly rated Brazilian has been on the club's radar for some time and he becomes the latest in a spate of signings for the Ligue 1 outfit.
Manager Laurent Blanc has underlined his ambitions for the season ahead, luring Napoli star Edinson Cavani and Lille midfielder Lucas Digne to the club on long-term deals this week.
Marquinhos impressed in Serie A last season, forcing experienced defender Nicolas Burdisso from his place at the back.
"I am delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain, a club where so many Brazilians have played and helped write the club's history," the former Corinthians centre-back told the club's official website.
"I will do everything I can to continue that tradition and write my own name into the club's illustrious history books.
"Paris Saint-Germain will help me continue my progression alongside exceptional players, with the desire to win trophies and also win the hearts of the supporters."
